The date for the introduction of the IR35 reforms looms closer, is your agency prepared?

IR35 has been a big topic of discussion since the ‘off-payroll’ rules were confirmed to be rolled out into the private sector from April 2020. With just over 3 months to go until we reach this date, how much preparation has your agency taken to ensure they are ready for this date?

So, what are the changes?

Just to recap, a consultation into extending IR35 reforms into the private sector took place in August 2018, and the autumn budget of that year confirmed these changes would take place in April 2020, which will ultimately impact a significant majority of agencies across the UK. The changes to IR35 will impact medium to large clients working in the private sector, who will be responsible for determining the IR35 status of a contractor. For many agencies IR35 legislation is not something that impacted their business prior to these reforms, however with private sector changes coming next year, now is the time for agencies to become accustomed with IR35.
